Senior Aliahna Moye-Herwig is nearing the end of the journey here at Hudson Catholic High School. One of the elite senior De La Salle Scholars, she sheds some light on what she’s learned, where she’s going, and what she will remember most.
Q: Are you looking forward to college?
A: Yes, I’m definitely looking forward to college. I think its going to be an interesting journey.
Q: What do you want to major in?
A: I want to major in medicine and psychology. I want to become a doctor, and if that doesn’t work out, a therapist, nurse, or an EMT.
Q: Where do you see yourself in five years?
A: Still in school, getting my doctorate. Maybe in an apartment of my own.
Q: What do you do outside of school?
A: I like to a lot of different things, but usually painting, dancing, reading, or sleeping.
Q: Have you changed since freshman year?
A: I’ve changed a lot since freshman year, especially since I moved from Kansas to Jersey my freshman year. I think I’ve changed for the better though.
Q: Which teacher influenced you the most and why?
A: Mr. Marmora. His classes were very interesting to me and it kind of led me to embrace the sciences.
Q: Any advice for incoming freshmen?
A: My advice would be for freshmen to be themselves and not be afraid to take risks and try new things. If anything, my biggest regret is not doing things I wanted to because I was too scared.
Q: Whats your favorite subject?
A: My favorite subject is a tie between art and psychology.
Q: If you could change one thing about high school, what would it be?
A: I would change how much people worry about being judged by one another.
Q: What is something that you will miss from Hudson Catholic?
A: I’m going to miss the friends I’ve made as well as my teachers.
