Wild Games for the Wild Card
Tuesday October 6th and Wednesday October 7th saw two teams win crucial games. Tuesday the Houston Astros took it to the New York Yankees at the Yankees home turf by the score of 3-0. The next day at Pittsburg, the Chicago Cubs won their game against the Pittsburg Pirates by the score of 4-0.
The Astros looked really dominant in their win behind ace starter Dallas Keuchel who only allowed three hits with seven strikeouts while Yankee ace Masahiro Tanaka gave up major home runs to Colby Rasmus and Carlos Gomez. A lifeless Yankee offense sealed the fate of the Bronx bombers the Astros will face the Royals in the ALDS.
The Cubs were just as dominant as the Astros with ace Jake Arrieta throwing a complete game shutout. The Pirates offense had no answer for Arrieta while the Cubs had the bats going for them behind rookie Kyle Schwarber who had a homerun. The Cubs will face will face the St. Louis Cardinals in the NLCS.
