Girls Soccer Faces A Transition

Girls Soccer Faces A Transition

| On 03, Oct 2016

The girls soccer season is already in full swing, but with a new coach in Mr. Ryan Garland, it is going to take the girls some time to adjust to the change.

“Having a new coach is a hard adjustment,” said junior captain Katie Boyle. “We have new game plans, new players, and a new recruiting process. It is going to take a while to adjust, but by next year I think we should be winning a lot more.”

When The Commentator asked Boyle about the biggest challenge that she thinks they will face this year, she responded immediately. “Kearny is our biggest challenge because they haven’t lost a game in ten years.”

To be able to beat teams like Kearny, a team has to have good chemistry on the field, but it isn’t the easiest thing to have on a high school team. “Since we have new players every year, players stopping, players starting, it is hard to have chemistry.” said Boyle. “But all of us get along well and work hard, so that helps.”

Boyle also said she works really well with junior Ryan Webb, with whom she gets along on and off the field.

The Hawks Soccer Girls might be off to a slow start, but the hope is that they get it going within the next few games.
