Prom Fashion 2016

| On 18, Apr 2016

Prom is right around the corner, and we seniors are growing more and more excited each day. The number one thing we’re all anxious about is what to expect in terms of this year’s prom fashion trends. Everyone loves watching the excited seniors get ready for prom and ride off in their luxurious limos, all decked out in top couture. The outfit is everything.

While no two people want to look alike, it’s important to know what the go-to “it” look for prom 2016 will be. Whether you are looking to fit in or stand out, this little style guide is sure to be a great help.

Ladies: The options are endless. Traditionally, there are lots of long gowns worn. A gown is simply more elegant and formal than a shorter dress. That being said, we aren’t Disney princesses: stay away from the fluffy ball gowns! There are all kinds of materials, colors, necklines, back designs, and cuts to explore without resorting to cliche looks.

We predict that this year we’re going to see a lot of muted colors like navy and burgundy, so brighter colors have a greater chance of standing out. Nowadays, less is way, way, way more. You probably won’t see a lot of sparkles and rhinestones glittering at this year’s prom.

Remember, attitude is key. Most of the time isn’t what you wear, but how you wear it.

Gentlemen: Despite what you may have heard, prom fashion is just as important for the guys as it is the girls. Men’s prom wear has been evolving over the last few years. We have come from baggy rented suits to slim, fitted looks. The guys aren’t just an accessory – we should be dressed to impress.

Lace up shoes have been dying out, and slip-ons have been on the rise. A loafer looks very classic with a fitted pair of pants. It has a classic and versatile look. Try to buy the suit and get it tailored to your body. This is a good investment because you will be able to reuse it on many occasions. Every young man should have a smart suit in his closet.
