It first happened when you showed up

At 2am with puffy, red eyes

My heart broke at the sight

You told me that she broke up with you

It happened again when we were ice skating

You grabbed my hands to keep me from falling

Your touch made me feel something I’ve never felt

The third time it happened we were in your car

Singing at the top of our lungs

You said that you love me for everything I’ve done

Love that’s when it hit me

I love you but not the way you love me

You feel platonic love

I feel romantic love

You’ve found someone new

If only I had realized sooner

Maybe we’d be together

I should have realized.
