Lady Track Hawks Win Hudson County Championships

On January 29, 2018, the annual Hudson County Championship was held in the New York Armory starting at 5:00pm. The Hudson girls were able to take the championship, scoring a total of 56 points. The Hawks just beat North Bergen by 2 points.
The meet started of with junior Weeshamer Senatus scoring second in the 2 mile with a time of 11:42, earning 8 points. Weeshamar then went on to earn first in the 800 meters.
Senior Ryan Webb was able to score 16 points by herself by getting runner up in both the 55m dash and the 400m with times of 6.48 and 6:00.42 respectively.
Teammate Janae Van Burch trailed behind Webb earning third overall in the 400m dash with a time of 61.05, a new personal record.
Junior Yasmeen McDonald contributed an additional 6 points by scoring 6 more points by throwing 30-0 and getting third in the varsity girls shot put.
The Hawks secured the win by scoring first in the 4×00 relay with a team consisting of Janae VanBurch, Ryan Webb, sophomore Modesty Griffith and senior Anan Belel.
The final score was 56-54 Hudson Catholic, making the Hudson Catholic girls 2018 Hudson county champions.
