Sonnet: I’m Fine
Sydney Cheatham | On 10, Mar 2015
Invisible. Masked. Unseen. Ghost. Disguise.
Does anyone even know what it feels like?
To look at yourself and just criticize.
Look at them, look at you, nothing alike.
Just me, my shadows and these words of hate.
They’ve got me heavily wrapped in this chain.
Running away from judging eyes, it’s too late.
Yet I smile to fill this hole in my brain
To look at the bright side in situations.
Seeing happiness in the darkest times.
Seeing people on permanent vacation.
Hearing everyone’s roaring, joyous hymns.
And even though I’m invisible.
I’ll try to be that happy individual
