Background on Light Yagami
I am going to answer the question that people have been asking their whole life, is Light Yagami a Kratos victim? But before I answer that, let me give you some background on these fellas. Light Yagami is the main character from a Tv show and book called “Death Note”. He was a genius in high school who had a serious problem with the justice system. He was given a notebook that grants him an ability, when he writes someone’s name in the book they die. He is accompanied by a God of Death named Ryuk that enjoys every bit of evil that Light Yagami commits. He takes this power too far and plans on changing and bringing “peace” to the world. He confuses justice with punishment. He is widely known as someone who is definitely an evil evil man.
Background on Kratos
This is the man that everyone knows and loves, arguably the face of playstation. Kratos is the main character in the Game series “God of War”. He is a demigod, the son of Zeus, but he was once a spartan soldier, he was a ruthless and very good killer. One day he was losing a battle and he called out to Ares to make a deal with him. The deal was for Ares to destroy his enemies and he will give his life to him. Ares heard and accepted it. Kratos was given the Blades of Chaos which he used to kill people that Ares wanted dead. He went from town to town massacring every man, woman, and child he had to. Ares then played a trick on Kratos. Kratos was told to destroy a village and it wasn’t till it was all gone that he realized his wife and child were there. He killed them and was devastated at what he had done. A village oracle cursed him by forcing his wife and daughters ashes to be permanently glued to his skin. Ares believed that doing this would lead Kratos to be the most powerful warrior in history, but it rather led to a new anger built inside of Kratos. He swore revenge and later killed Ares. Zeus feared that Kratos would overthrow him so he killed him. Kratos escaped hell and swore revenge on all the Gods of Olympus. He died a couple more times, but he always escapes hell. He eventually achieved his goal, all the Gods of Olympus including his father Zeus were murdered by him. He later goes on a path of peace for his new son.
The difference
Light Yagami clearly goes insane when he gains this new ability. His obsession with “justice” was unaverage and it eventually led to his death. Kratos also had an obsession with “vengeance”, he thought that what he was doing was right, but he later realized the truth of that nature, but that does not take away the fact that Kratos will still kill a God if it means to protect himself, his son, or anyone he cares for.
What’s the correlation?
You may be wondering, “What kind of correlation do Light Yagami and Kratos have?” Let me tell you. Kratos is obviously a God and a God killer. Light Yagami is a regular human, BUT he has built this image. Not only was Light obsessed with justice, but he also wanted to be the “God” of the new world he was making. Light only targeted bad people, anyone that ever committed a crime. Murderers, rapists, robbers, tax evaders, politicians, etc. Kratos definitely fits the agenda for all the village’s he has destroyed and the Gods he has killed. BUT it also works in vise versa, Kratos is a God killer and would definitely consider killing Light, especially if his son is in the question.
The Outcome
Though Light is 1000x smarter than Kratos is, his ego is ultimately his downfall. People would argue that all Light needs to do is write his name down in the all powerful notebook and he will die. BUT there are some downsides on Light’s part that will ultimately get him killed. First of all the Notebooks are designed by the Death Gods, and the sole purpose is for them to be used on humans, it’s just that every couple of years a book falls from the death world onto earth and humans can pick it up and use it like Light did. Since the books were designed for humans, they only work on humans. No God will be affected by it, meaning that Kratos is immune and lives. But hypothetically speaking if Kratos was affected because he is half human, that the book would work on him, but that does not mean he loses. Like I stated before, Kratos has escaped hell countless of times and will just do it again. Light can’t beat him or outsmart him. Kratos is superior in almost every feat. When Kratos has successfully killed Light Yagami, he might move on to the Gods of death because he believes that one person should not hold this much power.
Conclusion
Overall Kratos is victorious and I have successfully proven the fact that Light Yagami is in fact a Kratos victim. This fight is not biased at all and only facts are used to decipher the overall winner in this fight.
