Decision Day

May 1, also known as “Decision Day,” is quickly approaching. A lot of Hudson Catholic seniors have already chosen and committed to their future colleges. The Commentator spoke to a few seniors to discuss their plans after high school and what they’re most excited for about being in college.
Gabriel Garcia has committed to Sacred Heart University where he will be majoring in Molecular Biology.
“I am most excited to be living out of state.”
Janae VanBurch has committed to University of New Haven where she will major in Political Science and English with a concentration in writing, and she will also be running for their track team.
“I am most excited to live on my own and have indolence and excited to run track at a higher level”
Madeline Lopez has committed to NJCU where she will be majoring in Business Management.
“I am mostly excited to play volleyball.”
Alazay Maldonado has committed to College of Saint Elizabeth where she will be majoring in Sociology.
“I am most excited to be living on my own and meeting new people”
Bryan Cardona has committed to Saint Peter’s University where he will be majoring in Computer Science.
“I am looking forward to being a freshman again, it’s like a whole new experience.”
Jillian Ward has committed to Fairleigh Dickinson University with an undeclared major and an interest in Elementary Education.
“I am most excited to be play softball.”
Sebastian Torres has committed to Montclair State University where he will be a philosophy major.
“I’m planning to go to law school after college and I’m excited to join the theater program at Montclair where I will hopefully be onstage.”
Veronica Japay is committed to Rutgers-Newark where she will be a Business major.
“I am most excited for the new environment and new faces.”
Nicole Greco has committed to Monmouth University where she has not yet declared a major.
“I’m most excited for meeting new people and experiencing new things.”
Jennifer Rubio has committed to Saint Peter’s University where she will be in the School of Arts and Science majoring in Criminal Justice.
“I am most excited for my college experience and learning more about the different aspects that criminal justice has to offer. I am very thankful for my family because they have been there every step of the way and this wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for them. I am so excited to join the Peacock family.”
Devin Schelmety has committed to Middlesex Community College where he is undecided, but has an interest in Fire Science or Physical Therapy.
“I’m most excited to play baseball and get away from here!”
Yanique Pridgen has committed to Fairleigh Dickinson University where she will be a Nursing major.
“New beginnings and new friends.”
