The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree is a world-wide symbol of Christmas time in New York City.
This year’s Christmas tree lighting took place on November the 29, from 7-9pm at Rockefeller Plaza, between West 48 and West 51 Streets and Fifth and Sixth Avenues.
The tree is 75ft long and is 19ft shorter than it was last year. It hails from State College, PA.
The tree was lit with the usual ceremonial flair, including live performances by Gwen Stefani, Brett Eldredge, Jennifer Nettles, Harry Connick Jr., Pentatonix, Seal, and Train. Thousands crowded the sidewalks for the event and millions watched it live across the globe. It will remain lit and can be viewed until 9pm on January 7, 2018.
