On September 30, 2016, The Commentator had a chance to speak with Lisbeth Rodriguez about the homecoming dance to be held on October 15 as well as her first few weeks as student council president.
When asked about her role, the graduating senior enthusiastically expressed that she is really committed to her role as head of the student body even though school has only been in session for three weeks.
“It feels awesome! It has a lot of responsibilities, but it is my duty to make other students happy to be at Hudson Catholic,” Rodriguez said.
The Commentator also asked Rodriguez about the details of the much-anticipated event this fall, the homecoming, and her expectations about it.
“It’s going to be on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at the Hudson Catholic gymnasium at 7:00 P.M. My expectations for the homecoming are for everyone to get along, to get to know each other pretty well, have a great time, [and] enjoy their night,” Rodriguez stated.
“[Homecoming] is a memorable experience, something that…freshmen remember as their first homecoming dance and for the rest of the students as a day and night to enjoy with their friends,” Rodriguez said, before exclaiming, “We have DJ Wallah!”
Lastly, Rodriguez stressed that the dress code is semi-formal, and dressing to the carnival theme is not a requirement. For those Hawks coming to the dance, they must know that semi-formal leans more toward dressing up than dressing down. That means no jeans and no sneakers!
Tickets for the homecoming dance are on sale now for $15. Guests will pay $20.
