Poem: “A Letter to an Old Friend”
Rebecca Holder | On 03, Apr 2020
From the cherished memories, you gave me
To those times under the fig tree.
The friendship bracelets we made together
With our hearts feeling light as a feather.
Not even sure if it was just a handful of dimes,
I remember the sound of low faint chimes
While running towards the big fig tree in the field.
Now its green leaves and brown bark have been peeled.
The last part of you that I had to hold
No longer beaming in green nor in gold.
