Op-Ed: Hawks’ Nest Food Mess

| On 23, Mar 2017

This piece reflects the beliefs of its author(s). It does not represent the views of The Commentator as a whole, nor does it represent the opinion of Hudson Catholic Regional High School.

Hudson Catholic is a great school with many positives, but there is a slight flaw that has come to everyone’s attention: the school lunch. Many students seem to consistently complain about Hudson Catholic’s lunch and the many things they consider wrong with it.

From stale food, to almost no variety, to high prices, it is inevitable that students will voice their opinions. We believe that the lunch is way too much money for the quality and amount of food we receive each day.

We were able to speak to a few students just to get their opinion on Hudson Catholic’s lunch options.

Senior William Sparks-Newsome spoke about his experience with the food in the cafe. He responded very negatively.

“That lunch is trash. I think we shoulda kept the same food from last year and I think we are being over priced.”

Sparks-Newsome went on to say, “When we get our food our food is cold, sometimes the food is stale, and it’s less portions then we god last year.”

Unfortunately, his opinion is similar to many Hudson Catholic students.

As students, we understand that our school is trying to be the best it can be, and we can’t expect everything to be perfect. We just would like some changes over a span of time, if possible.
