Is Prom Worth It?

Transitioning from middle school to high school is pretty epic. Going from doing everything as a class under adult supervision 24/7 to walking to the cafeteria with a few friends while Snapchatting is a very big difference.
As a high school student, I can confirm that time flies, it seems like freshman year was just yesterday. High school is over in the blink of an eye.
It is celebrated with not only a graduation ceremony, but a prom for seniors and maybe juniors. Prom is supposed to be a party for students before they graduate and probably never see each other again.
Many students may see prom as an excuse to spend money, especially for females. But it is more than that prom is a milestone for teenagers, it is one of the last things they do before they graduate and they become adults.
Some students might not want to attend prom not because it isn’t worth it, but simply because they do not have a date, it is too expensive, or it just is not for them. Having a date to prom is obviously a very nice thing, but it is not that important.
Going to prom without a date is perfectly fine, take a friend if it is that important. No one is forced to go, do not do something that you do not want to do, but missing out on the experience might not be the smartest decision.
High school is the last time in life when we could just be kids, prom is a celebration of youth before we have to give it up and become adults.
Prom is more than just dates and fancy chauffeur, it is a night to remember with the people that we transitioned from kids to adults with. Everyone wants the perfect prom night, but the most important thing is to have fun and enjoy it. Prom is definitely worth it.
